I’ve been playing with my watercolour set again! Again, I used a postcard. I do have some watercolour paper too (from Sostrene Grene, I bought it last week), but I have not quite found the courage to start on something that big. I know that the postcard paper is not that good for watercolour, but for now I’ll use it.
This time I have tried painting a sunset sky over some undefined landscape. The sky was to be orange/golden with purple clouds… I wanted to experiment with the colours of a blazing sky as opposed to pale, cool colours in the further away parts of the landscape. That turned out to be quite hard, because of course I managed to accidentally mix the two by adding colour too soon while the other colour was still a bit wet… and the clouds were tricky too… but in the end the painting is not that bad. And I learn more with every try.
