I was very happy to finish just in time for the end of the Just Batty Challenge, and to have seen the time and energy I spent on it rewarded with a beautiful skein of lace yarn. Imagine my surprise when I got an earburn on Sunday, leading me to the Just Batty thread on the forums, where I found out that I was one of the prize winners of the challenge! Guess what I won…
I get to order a Jenkins spindle at 40% off, where I can choose the type, and Ed will choose the wood. How amazing is that? Of course, it’s a bit funny that I’m happy because I get to buy something, but honestly, those spindles are very hard to come by, especially the one that I’ve been trying to get for months: the Finch! I was unlucky in every lottery until now, because there are hundreds of people who also want one… the chance is small that your number is chosen.
But now I can finally get a Finch, the little derwish that is a bit bigger than a Kuchulu, but just as light, with no backspin and more space for yarn because of the size… I’m sooo lucky! I asked for a Finch that is no more than 10 grams, and I’m very curious what I’m going to get. It will take some time before it gets here, because Ed and Wanda are superbusy right now, having two fiber festivals this month that need inventory, but after that, they will get back to me. Can’t wait!!
