On Ravelry, if you’re lucky, you can find very nice stuff that people are destashing for whatever reason. Since getting a Jenkins spindle from Jenkins himself seems to be quite hard (you have to win a lottery to be able to purchase one!), checking destashes can sometimes pay off. For example, that time when someone destashed two Delights, one in Grandillo wood and the other in Purpleheart…
Or that time when someone offers to sell you their Kuchulu… in olivewood, no less!
I’m so in love with these spindles, especially with the Kuchulu! The Jenkins spindles all have this kind of heavy feeling in the whorl, except for the Aegean, which feels swifter, more like Enid Ashcroft’s spindles. I noticed that I really love spinning with the lighter spindles (< 20 grams), and the tiny ones are so precious! I would love another Kuchulu, and maybe a Finch (Jenkins’ newest addition to the family) if I can ever get one…
