The designs of Herbert Niebling have been awe inspiring to me for some time now, and I finally decided to start one of my own. Originally, those designs were knitted on size 0,75mm needles, with thin crochet cotton, and then sometimes they were starched as well.
I’m knitting one of his patterns, Frühling, in Posh Chloe, colourway Tra-la-la, a nice lilac with glitters. After knitting 27 rounds, the circle has a diameter of about 10 centimeters, and I’m at about 150 stitches a row… that promises really long rounds for when I get to the end. I hope I have enough yarn…
wow…. you are one brave knitter 😀
Very cool! I’ve always dreamt of making Lyra in a dk or worsted yarn….I even heave 40 balls of Scheepjes ready for it 🙂 Do make lots of progress pictures!
I would add photos, but since my circular needle is only so long, they wouldn’t really show anything interesting at the moment, just a pile of yarn…
