On Ravelry, the Ravellenic Games, formerly known as the Ravelympics (stupid story), are about to begin. As soon as the Opening Ceremonies in London are starting, thousands of knitters worldwide will cast on new projects, finish existing WIP’s, or frog projects which have been around too long to still be interesting. Each knitter can participate in events like WIP Wrestling, Hat Dash, or the Afghan Marathon.
Of course, lots of people in the NKS group are participating, so we decided to join together as a team: Team Karma. We didn’t really like the new name of the Games, so we gave it our own spin and called it the Raveoly. I designed a placeholder for our projects.
Tonight it all starts at 10 pm. I have decided to enter in the WIP Wrestling event with three old WIP’s: a pair of socks and two shawls. I also decided to cast on a Catkin. Maybe I’m too ambitious, because we only have two weeks to finish it all, and I also have to prepare two exams… but we’ll see. One of the members of our team invented another category: Plienbreien, which means just doing what you want without worrying about tagging or finishing in time. Sounds good to me!
