Description
Assepoester is the Dutch name of Cinderella. This shawl looks rustic and comforting because of the use of worsted weight yarn, but the delicate patterning reveils the hidden princess, just like with Cinderella. I got inspired for this shawl at a KIP picnic, where the yarn and the good company gave me the initial idea. The shawl is made in a pi-like construction, and is slightly more than semicircular. It encompasses a couple of techniques, like easy brioche, lace, short rows and picot, but because of the thickness of the yarn, it’s a manageable project nonetheless.
The pattern includes both charts and written out instructions. It is suited for both (semi)solid and variegated yarns.
There are options for making the shawl larger. They are included in the pattern. The variegated shawl in the pictures is the medium size, and the large size is displayed in the last picture together with the medium option.
