Doornroosje is the Dutch name of Sleeping Beauty, and this shawlette represents her story. From the thorny edge, into the castle, up the stairs and past the bed curtains, you see the voyage of Prince Charming.
This elegant shawlette can be knitted from one skein of worsted weight yarn. It is possible to substitute the yarn with a heavier weight yarn, to get a denser fabric, or a lighter weight yarn for a more airy result.
This knit is very suitable for beginning lace knitters, since it’s both written out and charted. The charts are not very difficult or large, but the resulting shawlette looks quite intricate.
